Our Purpose

The Clear Lake Environmental Research Center exists to:
  • bring science, education, government, tribal and business groups together to resolve issues involving Clear Lake. 
  • study the unique properties of Clear Lake and the surrounding area.
  • coordinate programs and projects that focus on solutions to environmental and economic problems locally and worldwide.

Analytical Laboratory

CLERC operates a water quality testing laboratory at the Carnegie Library in Lakeport, California. CLERC's lab analyzes drinking water and wastewater for total coliform and E. coli.

CLERC is coordinating projects to help combat the impacts of wildfire, promote positive regeneration of burned areas, and preserve the forest and woodlands that have not been destroyed by fire.
