South Lake Fire Safe Council - Chipping Program
Using funding from CLERC's 2019 Fire Prevention Grant, the South Lake Fire Safe Council has been able to shift its low-cost chipping for Council members to no-cost chipping in 2022. Any resident who lives within the South Lake Fire Safe Council boundaries is eligible for 4 free hours of chipping after joining the Council for a $30 membership fee.

A few guidelines:
  • Material must be stacked adjacent to roads so as to be accessible to the chipping contractor.
  • Material should be more or less smaller than 3" in diameter.
  • Be sure to keep chipping piles free of rocks and other debris.
  • For more FAQs, check out the South Lake Fire Safe Council's chipping page on their website.
